New temporalities in the construction of the school organization culture
The expansion of the New Public Management, together with the digitization of education, has reconfigured the school culture. From three core dimensions - time, space and action - we reflect on the cultural metamorphosis that has occurred in Portuguese school organisations. The slow incorporation of political and organisational provisions of a performative nature brings out the different cultural faces (school culture, school organisational culture and school organisational culture) and their effects at the level of school leadership processes. We conclude that the intensification of individualism, the weakening of institutional bonds and the prevalence of immediate strategies suggest the development of fragmented forms of culture.
